Jungfraujoch, February 2015

For Mike's birthday we went to the top of the Jungfraujoch. It is called the Top of Europe, rightfully so as it's 11,333 feet above sea level.

It took over 2 hours to get there, and it was freezing. But being in the middle of the Alps is really just amazing. It is a must do if you are here during the winter.

Half way there we had to change trains. While waiting for the next train we had a quick lunch.

Typical lunch.

Once at the top we had about an hour to explore before the next train was heading back down.

We went to the observation deck.

Too cold for me!

Then we headed down through a tunnel in the mountain. They had a room full of wood sculptures.

A giant wooden snow globe

A memorial for all the men that died making the tunnel
Down some more we went through an ice tunnel full of sculptures.

And then back outside. It was too cold for me ( I lasted about 1 minute), but Mike braved the cold.

He was more prepared than I
