I made this headband at the end of October. I liked it but wasn't sure if I would wear it. But now that it's cold out, I'm wearing it all the time. It fits perfectly and it's wide enough to completely cover my ears with no chance of them peeking out.
I was able to complete this headband in 4 days (I'm very slow, most people could probably do it in a day). I got the pattern from Ravelry and it's the Blue Leaf Headband. I like Ravelry. They have thousands of free patterns, and you can sort them by degree of difficulty, cost, yardage used and other things. There's lots of groups, pictures, yarn suggestions. It's really a great site and it's my knitting go to website.
This was my first knitting project that had more than 2 steps. I had to learn a few new skills. I learned how to increase and decrease stitches, and how to make a button hole.
I made a few mistakes. Every time I stop paying close attention to what I'm doing I mess up. I have no idea how people can watch TV and knit. There is a knitting class on Craftsy about fixing mistakes that I may take one day. I already have 10 videos in my queue to watch, so I need to hold off on buying more.
